Pioneers in Australia's future
National Space Industry

August 2017 - The Commonwealth Government announced a review of Australia’s space industry capability to enable our nation to capitalise on the increasing opportunities within the global space industry sector.
During his tenure in government, CM Global's Principal Adviser, Chris Nicholls, had the foresight and initiative to precede this review 20 years beforehand bringing together Key Global Stakeholders from industry, governments around the world and the Australian community. He led a Senate fact-finding mission in Asia to garner support for rebuilding the abandoned Woomera Rocket Launch Facilities in South Australia and its unique geographical location. This foundational work has now culminated in the Federal Government's recent support for an Australian National Space Agency.

In 1997, the Queensland Government announced a review of Queensland Fisheries after concerns about the long-term sustainability of the State's wild-harvest industry. In his role as Ministerial Policy Advisor, Chris Nicholls oversaw the QLD Department of Primary Industries legislative change to introduce controversial commercial fishing buy-back licenses. Addressing wide public & industry concerns about the changes, Chris brought together Key Stakeholders and mapped out an agenda focusing on building a vibrant aquaculture industry which, today, has blossomed into a billion-dollar industry.
